Tremble Clefs concert

2 pm on Sunday, April 21

We welcome the Tremble Clefs to Cobbs Hall for a freewill offering performance! Light refreshments and fellowship to follow.

The Tremble Clefs are music groups for people with Parkinson’s disease, their family members, and care givers with no music experience expected or required. Parkinson’s disease is a neurological disease that causes deterioration of muscles throughout the body including loss of voice. The purpose of the Tremble Clefs is to intervene the voice loss by improving voice volume and speech through singing and focused exercise. Singing not only improves voice but also improves movement and mood allowing us to live well with Parkinson’s disease.

Please visit TrembleClefsArizona.org for additional information about the group and future concerts. The site also includes practice locations, dates and times for those who might be interested in participation.

Cactus Ukulele Ensemble performance

Cactus Ukulele Ensemble

We invite the community to attend the free Cactus Ukulele Ensemble performance at 3 pm on Sunday, March 3 and to stay for light refreshments and fellowship afterward.

An 11-person ukulele group that began six years ago in Sun City Grand, they will be playing many styles of music in multiple ukulele parts with vocal harmonies. CUE’s music has been shared at many local venues including local clubs and even neighborhood driveway concerts! They also lead sing-a-longs and engage audiences to enjoy the world of music with them. Many are surprised at how versatile and beautiful their 4-stringed ukuleles are.

This is a free-will offering performance and there is no ticket purchase required.

Get ready for an afternoon of ukulele concert enjoyment!

“Leaving Our Legacy” pizza lunch

Come for lunch on Wednesday, March 6th at 12pm in Cobbs Hall for a presentation by guest speaker Marilyn Fidmont of the Christian Church Foundation.

As a part of the 50th Anniversary of SCCC, we are establishing a Legacy Society so that future generations of Sun City Christian Church will be able to thrive as we have because of the generous gifts of our previous members. We hope that you will attend and explore with us the many ways we can remember our church and establish our legacy.

Pizza and soda lunch is available for just $5.

Finding Peace Amidst the Holiday Hustle: A Longest Night Service

Longest Night Service / Blue Christmas

The holidays can be joyful, but for many of us, they can also bring up feelings of loss and sadness. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the “merry” expectations while mourning the absence of a loved one or facing difficult emotions, you’re not alone.

This Longest Night (Blue Christmas) service, on Thursday, December 21st at 3pm, offers a gentle space for reflection and remembrance amidst the holiday rush.

Find solace, comfort, support and understanding in this brief service which offers you a moment of pause and peace during the longest night of the year. You are welcome to come as you are, and bring whatever memories or feelings you are having.

Don’t let the holidays overshadow your grief. Find strength and comfort in shared quietude and understanding.
